Kim Jung-Un's Death

My first genre selection is a photo-shopped CNN Breaking News Headline. The photo is of North Korea 's supreme leader, surrounded with weaponry, and the North Korean army. In this breaking news headline, North Korea has declared war on China. For decades China has provided both financial support and food to North Korea, but due to North Korea not cooperating with Chinas terms. China has decided to deny any funding or help to North Korea. North Korea has decided to retaliate towards China, out of anger since they are not self-sufficient. For this project I photo-shopped photos of Kim Jung-un, North Koreas dictator, along with a CNN Breaking News Headline. My goal was to bring forth a real life issue while comparing my central project theme, …show more content…
Kim Jung-un 's death occurs in the "The Interview" movies so I created a visual image as a continuation, also a lot of people would like to see an obituary of him. I honestly do not like Kim Jung-un, the dictator of North Korea, at all. He is a cruel human- being who has killed countless individuals while convicting many other individuals for innocent actions what he has deemed as crimes. Although I dislike him, the obituary features an attractive picture emphasizing his innocence. The North Korean people view Kim Jung- un as a God, since that’s how he wants the public to view him. They believe that he is an immortal who does not sleep or excrete waste. Since the leader of North Korea passed away in "The Interview" movie, I envisioned the background to be a cloudy sky, since he died airborne. The picture features the North Korean flags, to represent the amount of pride towards his country. The picture also features a smiling face, to ensure that he was a great person, ironically from the North Korean perspective. The picture lastly features a cloudy sky with sunlight emitting through the clouds to symbolize his transitioning to Heaven. The audience for this genre is towards the general public. There are many emotions that would be directed towards this obituary. Most United States citizens along with various other countries would be happy, with the death of Kim Jung-un. The people of North Korea would be in great sorrow, because they relied on him heavily in their daily lives. Referring to the death of Kim Jong-un, the father of Kim Jung-un, there are various pictures that show the population in tears along with the dictator himself. The countries bordering North Korea would be afraid of conflict, since another official would be appointed as supreme

The selection process of this project was that of a difficult one, however, one historical figure stood out like a white elephant because there was little attention attracted to him. Warren G. Harding, the 29th President of the United States, was an interesting topic because his legacy was tainted post-presidency, but the lingering question was why his presidency was a failure, and why he should be considered the worst president of all time. This topic did have some competition, however, another option that was captivating was, the Red Scare. It was an interesting topic because it had the potential to be a fun project, because it would have been an easy cause and effect essay. Ultimately, however, it came down to originality and challenge of the essay, and Warren G. Harding’s presidency fit the mold.…

Modern day North Korea, nicknamed the hermit kingdom, is known to be heavily isolated from the influences of the world. Its people are secluded and forced to praise their ruler, Kim Jong-un, or else they shall pay a dreadful price. Moreover, personally, I do not believe that Jong un’s people truly see and love him as this god-like figure. To me, I see them as terrified and depressed people who are involuntarily forced by the Korean government to live in a place with no freedom. This is even shown by the number of refugees who risk not only their own lives but their families in order to desperately escapes the clutches of their horrifying environment.…

Ayn Rand’s Anthem gives the readers a look at a dystopian society in which individualism is forgotten and man’s only priority is to serve the greater good. The most common singular pronoun, “I”, is deemed unspeakable as it is thought of as self-centered and egocentric. The Council of Vocations controls all citizens’ lives, determining what they can and cannot do and laying out the rules for society. Rand’s Anthem depicts collectivism and communism, which have been ideas present throughout History. Germany, from 1933-1945, had a similar social structure to the one presented in Anthem, with the government carrying total power and control over the citizens and laying out the rules for society.…

David Foster Wallace Reflection Many commencement speeches are inspiring and speak to all of the graduating students that are stepping into the workforce. David Foster Wallace’s speech focused on the life ahead of the students, who will be day in and day out in days filled with boredom, harsh frustrations and the same routine of daily life. When I first read the quote, it showed a story behind the commencement speech. The quote speaks to the autopilot lives that we are living, where we are unknowingly tangled in a rat race that keep us from paying attention to what is most meaningful in our everyday lives.…
