“This is your pilot speaking,” I heard from overhead. “We will be landing shortly. It is a snowy night in Salt Lake City, Utah, with a high of 16 degrees…” The pilot droned on and on. My sister and I started to gather our carry ons, getting ready to head off of the plane. “I’m so excited!” she exclaimed, “This is our first time traveling across the country. This is going to be the best Thanksgiving!” All of our family-aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents- gather each year for a giant Thanksgiving. My parents have been to Utah many times for separate occasions. They told us stories about all the ski mountains, the nature, the deer and elk, and the tourist attractions. We lived in Ohio, so being in the mountains was a first for the family. …show more content…

We were in his BMW, driving up into the mountains when he brought up a few strange things. “Are neighborhood is usually crowded with deer, as I’m sure you know.” We nodded. “But in the last few days, your aunt and I have noticed that they all seem to be migrating away from here. The ponds froze over early this year. I just wanted to make sure you’re not alarmed. That’s all,” he assured with a smile. His tone was caring and positive, but I could hear a tiny hint of fear in his voice. Changing the subject, he added, “Also, make sure you drink a lot of water! There were pine trees winding up the side of the road and open clearings that I could tell were golf course. There were Christmas lights lining trees and trimming the houses. When one thinks of two towns, most people generally assume that these towns share practically no differences whatsoever. However, if one can properly analyze two specific towns, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, and Bethlehem, New York, their assumptions would quickly be proven wrong because of the varying differences of these towns. Among these differences are the environments of the towns, as well as the effect of technology on the two contrasting communities. Bethlehem is a rural community that resembles a town of the past, while Bensalem is a suburban township that represents the modern standard of a society.…

Of course all the classic thanksgiving things happen but there are also psychological things that go on. (Darn that psychology sneaking its way into everything, it obviously never goes on break.) Although psychology is used every minute of every day i 'm only going to talk about 5 concepts, persuasion, cognition, emotion, personality, and the self.…

Alex and Jay are frankly some of the greatest friends I can ask for, and going in to thank them I knew they would take it light-heartedly and make a joke out of it. Before we sat down for dinner, the three of us were sitting in her living room ranting and cracking jokes.…

The arrival of fall is approaching and my excitement is shouting . The feeling of goosebumps start to go up and down my arms when I walk outside enough to give me chills, the breeze moves my hair in a gentle way. The smell of the air starts to consist of pumpkin spice and cinnamon making me lick my lips. The trees start to stand out with vibrant colors, and the leaves fall like rain falls in the spring. All the time and effort put into every leaf to be racked just to be destroyed by a one jump leaves me with sore callus.…
