Personal Narrative: Our 1, 000 Paper Cranes

Great Essays
Our 1,000 Paper Cranes It all started one day in Ms.Anderson’s sixth grade classroom at J.A Rogers Elementry. It was a normal day early in the year about September,in class with work about ancient Greece after the lesson was over we had to answer questions and do a worksheet. I sat next to my best friend Nicole. She was taller and has dark, median size hair in a bun and black eyes with a scar on the side of her nose. She always made me laugh and I made her laugh but we were very different I always liked to read in my spare time but Nicole prefered to play soccer so we hardly spent any time with each other at recess. So after I was done with my work and had time before the next thing we were going to do …show more content…
“Can I borrow it after you?” she asked. “Sure.”I said. “But remember to give it back.” I hate losing books. It took a while for Nicole to read it probably about a couple for weeks but after she was done she told me about how much she liked it. “It was a sad ending.” she said. Then I got an idea. “Do you want me to show you how to make a paper crane?” I asked her. “Okay, but it looks kinda hard.” We used old worksheets since we did not have any origami paper. It took a long time for me to do one perfectly when I started to make paper cranes when I was about ten years old I did not really like at first and I only wanted to do it because paper cranes are a symbol of good luck, and some sometimes I still feel very unlucky. So teaching Nicole was a challenge and a long time since there are many ways to mess up and if you frustrated enough it is easy to end up with a paper rock instead of a paper crane. It took a long time but Nicole eventually learned how to make a perfect paper crane. As she made more paper cranes she got much better. Then while we were making paper cranes in our desks at indoor recess, because it was raining, we got an idea: “I think we can make to one thousand if we tried.”I said finishing my eighth paper crane. “Why …show more content…
“We only need ten more to make one thousand.”I announced to everyone of my friends who has helped. As soon as I said that all of my friends that helped grabbed some paper and made a paper crane. When they were done we ended up with more than one thousand. “We made it!”Nicole was saying. “We made one thousand paper cranes!” I could not believe it it took us almost all year. I was so happy. “We should string them so they look like they are flying.”I said. But we never got to string them with so many tests and school stuff. It was near the last day of school and we agreed to finish next year.I knew I was going to a different school next year so on the last day of school I was going to give Nicole a paper crane with my address inside so she could write letters to me.I had to help a teacher almost all day so when we were all leaving to go home I ran to where the Linc kids were, the ones that stay after school, and found Nicole and I forced the paper crane in her hand and said “Here, unfold it.”Then I ran to the bus line to get on the bus and left. After what about two years I haven’t heard a thing from her.The box full of paper cranes are still sitting in Ms.Anderson’s classroom.I did not want to string them alone so I’ll wait.I may have not finished this adventure yet,but it is

“Let’s go.” They hurried out to the car, and began driving through the streets, in excited and suspenseful silence until they reached the run-down paper factory. It had been shut down due to irreversible mold and termite damage, and the city hadn’t sold the property yet, so the whole looming structure still stood. Nicole got out of the car, staring breathlessly at the gloomy building littered with graffiti and broken glass. Zach reassuringly grabbed her hand and they walked up to the door.…

At my sister's basketball game, at Spring-Ford, at the ninth grade center, I was in second grade, not even knowing the girl sitting a few rows above me would become my best friend. Fast enough, I had figured out that she was on all of my competitive sports teams and I began to recognize her around progressively often. Her name was Lainey Owens. Not only did Lainey become my best friend, but was benign, sociable, loyal, and never failed to brighten my day. Throughout our friendship, I had been pleased and there was never a dull time.…

Ariyonna Underwood As one ages, one starts to become their own person, figuring things out for oneself and becoming more independent. But as for me, I was a very shy, quiet, and stay-to-myself kind of person. I didn’t like being around a lot of people or just doing nothing. When times got hard I would listen to my music and just be in my own little world. I would bottle up all my emotions and not tell anybody anything.…

Moving schools away from all of my friends should’ve been an appalling experience, surprisingly, it was a blessing in disguise. I went to Agnes Baptist Elementary from kindergarten to 5th grade and I had friends that I've known since I was 3. I loved it there and knew the school like the back of my hand. Everything was superior, like most good things, though there were times where they weren’t, I was harassed by a bully almost everyday, my grades were getting inadequate, and my mom didn’t want me to be a sad, disconsolate 7th grader at a new junior high. In the result, I moved and I went to Savage Middle School, a school that had 6th, 7th, and 8th graders.…

Moving here from North Carolina when I was four changed my life completely, I was away from my family who I lived with my whole life, thrown into a school with a bunch of kids who lived here since they were born and told to “make friends.” This changed the next 13 years of my life to something I can never picture not having. The first four years, both my parents had full time jobs and my grandma helped raise me a lot, she taught me so many manners and how to behave, she even ended up living across the street from me for 2 of those years, they were rough for my parents, new baby, just moving, having to find jobs, making friends, and getting food on the table for me. Thats where my amazing family came in, with bringing home cooked meals…

When I moved to Orlando, Florida, I was twelve years old. I did not know what to expect when it came to the Orlando weather, their school system or their people. My mom called me one day when I was on my way home from school and told me we would be moving, at the time I did not know where we were moving to, but I knew I was not going to be okay with moving away from my neighborhood friends who I have been friends with since the second grade. Once I came home, the majority of our house was already in boxes and I refused to pack any of my belongings because at the time I did not want to accept the fact that we were moving to an entire different state.…

Mrs. Winn’s kindergarten class was probably one of my favorite elementary classes because I had my best guy friend, Cameron, in the class, and it was obviously an easy class for me. I remember whenever we colored anything or did any drawings, my teacher would always compliment my coloring abilities because I knew how to color within the lines; all the other kids had scribbles outside of the lines and their drawings would not be as neat as mine. Cameron and another boy named Jordy were my favorite people in the class and the three of us would always hang out together and play outside during recess. Jordy was my favorite until he snitched on me and told the teacher I did something I did not do. He eventually died out of my life because I did…
