A Child Called “Adelina”
We all have at least one person in our life the we love. We all have that one person that means the world to us. In all lives, there is death. You never know when death is coming, it could be any second, any minute, any day, any month, or any year. It’s never known when someone will die. It’s a tragedy when someone you love does, especially when you witness it. It is the most painful thing to experience. It’s one thing to hear the news but to be around when it happens. It’s like you’re heart just shatters into billions and billions of pieces.
The day of November 25, 2013, in the night, I had to witness something horrific that scared me for life. Something that

Most of them had the munchies so they all went quickly to the food, it was like they haven’t eaten in days! The people I was surrounded by was basically my other family. We all considered each other family. The discussed how this is their early Thanksgiving, although it wasn’t really a actual Thanksgiving meal. Most of the people I was with weren’t really close with their family, some didn’t even have a family. It was just them, they considered friends as family. We all began to eat, and have a conversation in the living room, the table was filled with the food so we weren’t able to eat there, plus it only had six chairs. There was much more than six people there. As we sat there, I enjoyed the moment, thinking this, this, is my …show more content…
Most of us stayed because it wasn’t really that late. My mom called me that evening telling me to make sure I’m home by 12, since I was with my brothers she gave me more time to be out. Although I was only 12 at the time I was treated as if I was an adult by my second family, I think that’s what I liked most about my second family. My brother Alex told me to get extra plates of food. We always got extra food so when we got home if we were hungry we would eat that food instead of having to cook. I started getting the plates and putting food on them for us, the I heard my brothers discussing “someone ‘finessed’ them”. I giggled because I thought to myself “ these dummies got played”. They was furious though, they hated if someone played with there money. Not knowing who it was my brother Booboo left, saying “ I don’t trust y’all right now.” It was nothing new though, he always got mad like that when it came to money, but all would be forgiven the next day. He never held a grudge. Ad came in the kitchen telling me to hurry up because he’s tired and wants to leave. I argued saying “ don’t rush me”. He just laughed and walked out. I started talking to one of the girlfriends, Christina. She was telling me about how she wants to have another kid with Drew. Then she kept going on and on about how much she loves him. I wasn’t really interested and didn’t really care so I changed the subject asking how what’s her family going to do

In the book, A Grace Disguised, by Jerry Sittser, the author shares an emotionally raw account of his personal loss of three family members-his wife, his young daughter, and his mother in a tragic car accident. He takes us through his ability to endure grief and the long journey to forgiveness. Not only must he care for his remaining three children and their emotional wellbeing, he must conquer his own emotions, overcome the overwhelming feeling of loss, and repair his relationship with God. Sittser shows us through his own pain the importance of taking on loss and sorrow head on, that darkness comes with unforgiving and light with forgiveness, and that no one is immune from having hardships brought into their lives. Everyone will suffer from the pain of loss at some point in their lives.…

There are many different feelings surrounding the subject of death, specifically how one deals with the loss of a loved one. The death of someone close to you, especially a spouse or significant other, can be very hard to deal with. Some people can handle it better than others. Some might feel as though life cannot go on, while others may feel as though they have to move on so that they can try to be happy and not worry over their loss until they too pass away. The poem by Auden expresses the idea that everything stops after a loved one dies, while Rossetti's poem expresses the need to move on after someone dies.…

Mother Teresa once said, “Let us touch the dying, The poor, the lonely and the unwanted according to the graces we have received and let us not be ashamed or slow to do humble work.” Mother Teresa's words of wisdom apply to Adeline because she was lonely and unwanted. The summer after my seventh-grade year, I encountered a new perspective on life. The day I had a change in perspective, I had a softball game at this complex in Springfield. About 20 minutes into our first game, I felt a change in atmosphere. It all started when I played second base and these obnoxious, loud sirens started going off around the big town of Springfield. After our perfect inning of three outs, I noticed my parents missing from the crowd cheering me on.…

Adelia Hello, I am Adelia Kepa, I have many brilliant ideas, and lots of pretty decor… At least that's what it says on my resume. I nervously put on a black pencil skirt, and tying my long blond hair into a messy bun, I grabbed my resume off the table along with my keys to my very small 2000 Volkswagen bug, which was all I could afford even when I was mooching off my parents living at their house, and eating their food, but I couldn't afford rent on an apartment right now. My marriage to the perfect guy still months away, so I could get in a few clients right now, which is why I'm going to meet a client but first, about my job.…

Death is final with no point of return and extremely painful for the ones left behind to grieve. This was especially true for me when I lost my mother. Losing her was one of the most difficulty experiences in my life because I was not prepared for her death. Looking back on the situation, there was nothing for which to prepare; she was only fifty-one years old. I knew her health was not the best; however, the diagnosed health problems were not what killed her.…
