NPD or narcissistic Personality Disorder is a mental illness that strikes a surprising one percent of the human population. It is characterized by unusual ideation of self-importance, delusions of grandeur and is even given the title “God Complex.” No one can do anything better, faster and with more authority than the person with NPD. At least that is the opinion of the person WITH NPD. Sure they can be diagnosed and given counseling and placed on mood stabilizing medications, but it rarely helps much, if at all. This is kind of an overall issue as it puts all the other symptoms together in a synthetic world. Most of their beliefs are falsified in their own mind. This, in turn, allows a screen to cover everything around them in order to color the world in such a way that they find themselves having a significance that normally would not exist. The delusion is then set to allow for someone to see this imagined reality as an allowance for their arrogance. Often this can play out in such a way that the person will have people that do abide by their assumed superiority, giving credence to the false reality, and thus making the symptoms and the disorder more difficult to dispute. 3.Finicky Standards Narcissists believe that they can only be understood by and able to communicate with people they think are as exceptional as they are. This drastically lessens the number of people they think are even worth talking to. Being that they use inflated sense of self to confirm their personal ideas of who they are, they will not have any issue with people who do the same. On top of that is the idea that if someone is as exceptional as they are, they strive to surpass this person in order to prove their own self-worth.
