Along with many others I am disappointed in the way that our society is shaping out. However, I am not upset because of the fact that gay people can marry, or that transgender people can be recognized for changing their bodies to fit their mentality, but rather because of the way that people are responding to these changes. I am under no authority to judge people for who they love or who they are, and neither is any other person who walks this earth. It brings me great sorrow that people have the audacity to treat others with blatant disrespect and deliberately inflict pain on another human being because they are different. To feel that the world would be a better place without them. Can you imagine what that feels like to wake up every morning having those thoughts due to factors out of your control? I cannot imagine the pain that some people feel, the burden of being true to oneself that some people endure every day. To know that there are thousands of post going out on social media every day with the intent to hurt others, with the intent to make others feel bad about themselves, with the intent to cause more pain and more suffering and more questioning of self-worth makes me very disappointed in the progress that we have yet to make as a society. I do not usually share my thoughts and feelings on such touchy subjects because I hate the idea of offending others and do not wish to cause anyone anger, I do not like conflict and would like to avoid it at all cost. Unfortunately I do not live in as peaceful and accepting of a place as I would like and I do not think that it is fair to those who are standing up for themselves and others who have yet to find the strength to do so for me to leave so much unsaid because I am fearful of disturbances, when there are nothing but disturbances being displayed every
