Nancy McCormick Rambusch was born in April 1927 and died in 1994 at age 67. She was the leader of the Montessori movement, which was originally founded by Maria Montessori in 1907. Dr. Rambusch was tirelessly devoted to advancing education. She began her journey as a young teacher in 1953. In 1958, Dr. Rambusch became the first headmistress of Whitby School, a Catholic school in Greenwich, Connecticut. She was later chosen to be the first president of the American Montessori Society.
