The story, “Nature Lessons”, by Nancy Lord shows how a father is unsuccessful in creating a bond with his daughter. Marco’s daughter, Mary has no interest in all the activities that he enjoys doing in the nature, in fact she is ashamed of what he does, while he thinks it is something to be proud of. From the past few days till now, all she is doing is thinking about L.A. Mary cannot change the fact that she is an addict to the city life. She was never enthusiastic with the activities that Marco loved instead “Mary was indulging him in his activities rather than enjoying them herself” (11). It looks like she is doing a favour on him, she is really not into anything that is happening, and maybe she is thinking about something else. Mary already
