Based on what I heard about elderly people and also what I have seen in the past, I got the impression that they would be hard to communicate with, moody and also relatively messy however, after entering Nanas old age home, my thoughts had completely changed. Due to the large amount of available rooms, they are able to accommodate more old people. However since this is a nonprofit organization it doesn’t benefit the home in any financial way but improves their reputation thus leading to more donations from people who would like to help out. Another strength that the organization has is that it’s associated with the Aga Khan hospital which means that people will find it more reliable as the Aga Khan hospital is a well known and respected hospital in Kenya. The Old age home has a staff that seems to have experience in the field of taking care of people and know how to handle the people in different situations. The home also has practices such as weekly exercises for all the old people in order to keep them healthy. I find this very important as it shows that the home cares for them and tries to ensure that they live a healthy, and active life and don’t just waste away by lazing around. When external people see how well the elderly are doing at the home, they thus get the urge to contribute in one way or another
