Throughout the book, there were many instances that seemed like Caddy and Quentin, her brother, had committed incest. Quentin even tries explains to his father about what he did. He never actually had a sexual relationship with caddy. But he felt responsible for what her and Dalton Ames did. He was very upset about that event and did the only thing he thought was right, to kill himself.
