The book, Anthem, first starts with the phrase “It is a sin to write this.” We tend to realize that there are more negativity in the world. Throughout the book, Equality 7-2521’s mind constantly starts to change. He begins to become more loving of only himself, rather than his surroundings. Mainly every character doesn’t have their own individual self. Each person’s uniqueness, tends to be the traits of a person. However, instead of names, their names consists of numbers rather than the typical letter based names. Equality 7-2521 begins to experience mysterious settings, changes, and embracing the word, “I” from a “we,” recognizing a great independence and self-change. His beliefs from the beginning of the book change by the end of the book.
