On Saturday, October 3, I sat down to interview my dad: Nadeem Ishaq for a few questions. This small interview helped me to know and understand his past and present feelings thought and opinions. To start things off, I asked him what career pathway did he think about or wanted to pursue after graduating from high school. He responded excitedly that “I wanted to go into the medical field to be a successful Cardiologist,” (Ishaq). I followed up by asking if he could would he change anything about the high school. He rubbed his head and responded thoughtfully that “ I want to change one particular thing and that was pursuing higher education but was pulled over to help my dad due to certain circumstances and went into the line of business,” (Ishaq). This made me feel a little sad for him because he was unable to pursue his goal.
As the interview continued I asked him what were some of the circumstances that pushed him to go into the business line. He responded confidently, “It was not exactly any bad circumstances, but it was just that I had to look after the families expanded business, since I was the oldest of all my brothers,”(Ishaq). I quickly followed up by asking what business he did. He said confidently that he sold iron and steel

I asked him how did the business of iron and steel impact his future. He responded happily, “It impacted my future because even though I was taken away from pursuing my goal, but It helped me to know and learn how to fit into the practical world,” (Ishaq). I was very curious to know one more answer which was gnawing me since the beginning of the interview and I was running out of time as well, so I asked him if he could would he still try pursue his goal. He said energetically that he would if he got the chance to, (Ishaq). I thought for a second that if I was in Nadeem Ishaq’s shoes then I would have made the same decision. After, his response I shook his hand and said thank

The person that I decided to interview is David Ellinger, who is my father, in addition to being a plumber for over 40 years and a plumbing business owner of over 29 years. Mr. Ellinger became the owner of his own plumbing company in 1986 and appropriately named his business, D.P. Ellinger Plumbing and Heating. I have always had dreams of owning my own business, which played a key point why I chose this to interview. Another key point on why I chose this individual to interview has to do with the fact that Mr. Ellinger’s business holds a great reputation that has continuously over the past decades, which he dedicates to the simple answer, work hard and stick to what you say you are going to do.…

Life's a journey worth taking the unbeaten path. That is why, despite looking up to my loving parents and having the utmost respect for them, I have taken a different road than they did. However, undergoing any challenge without their guiding experience can certainly prove to be an undertaking. I, a first generation college student, am the pioneer of higher education for my family. Though I join many others in lunging out into the world for the first time, I am doing so without having a father or mother to tell me how to tackle the college experience.…

I interviewed JG, a senior in high school in an affluent area of the South Hills of Pittsburgh. JG had an easy disposition, he seemed very eager to obtain advice on a potential career path, and we established a rapport quickly. He was curious and interested and remained comfortable throughout the interview, as was I. He was interested in seeking out further information about career development, and I provided him the recommended websites we received for the assignment. It was through JG’s openness and honesty that I was able to understand much about his likes, his background and potential areas of his experiences that may help him find a career that he may find fulfilling. With the caveat, of course, that I ensured he knew that any suggestions…

Leadership Interview I recently had the opportunity of interviewing Mr. Maity who has more than ten years of experience in leadership positions within his organization. He started his career after grad school with a small non-profit research organization. His leadership abilities were quickly realized and he became a part of a large company as a Project Manager. He recalls that in his first job, the small size of the company and the nature of operations meant that soon after joining the firm, he started taking up multiple responsibilities with many being outside of his core functional role. This valuable learning experience has allowed him to excel in his current leadership position.…

Just for fun, Nassim Nicholas Taleb enjoys making fun of those who take themselves, better yet, their levels of know-how, too seriously. Hinting that his habit of poking fun at scholars is a possible coping mechanism for his intellectual insecurity. In his book, “Fooled by Randomness,” he attempts to equate one’s success to mere chance or randomness. Making a case that moderate success can be influenced by hard-work, and the level of skills one possesses, but that success to higher degree is the result of good fortune and or arbitrary events. Can prosperity, in truth, depend on being in the right place at the right time?…

“Why attending College?” “If you aspire to become an exceptional human being and accomplish your dreams, you need to conclude your education,” my mother repeats constantly. Certainly, it is impossible to accomplish the most substantial goals in our lives without making significant efforts. On my personal experience, when I was a child my family educated me on how important college was in order to fulfill my expectations. As I grew up with a family that earned little income, my mother taught me the essence of discipline and the importance of continuing my education beyond high school. As a high school graduate and an adult, I have allowed the trials of my life, along with the classes I have completed, to become an opportunity to enhance the skills needed for my future education. I currently attend National Park College, where I plan to continue my education towards an Associate of Arts degree. In the fall, I will attend full-time classes where they will help provide me the necessary training and studies to advance towards my future education.…

1 INTRODUCTION The study of entrepreneurship spans a wide range of fields, however it is argued that no prevalent consensus of research regarding the definitions, the process of becoming an entrepreneur or the factors influencing the process, has been reached (Ehrmann, 2013). According to Shane (2003), prior research has tended to look at only part of entrepreneurial process and thus, a general theory on entrepreneurship has not been formed. The individual-opportunity nexus framework of Shane (2003) examines the characteristics of opportunities, the individuals who discover and exploit them, the processes of resource acquisition and organising, and the strategies used to exploit and protect the profits from those efforts.…
