Volunteering over the summers at a camp for children ages two through nine has opened me to an entire set of skills that reflect those a qualified NSHSS Ambassador should have. Working with children requires you to act as a role model. From a young age what children are exposed to influences their views on right and wrong and what they think of as the right way to act, this is why you must be vigilant in constantly working to inspire them to have desirable traits. Quick thinking is also a big part of working with kids, you must always be on your toes, ready to change gears for whatever comes next and willing to do anything to reign in their short attention spans. It’s a tough job and I hope it has prepared me for whatever my future holds, especially
