1St position: President After serving as the meeting facilitator for this previous term, I am interested in serving as NHS President because serving the community has always been an integral part of my identity and something that I genuinely enjoy doing. NHS has proven to be influential, and its credibility and scope will continue to bring more individuals to appreciate service. As someone who enjoys community service and recognizes its value, I would like to lead this organization in persisting and expanding its impact. I believe that my passion and dedication to NHS and community service in general makes me the best candidate for this position. Beyond dedication and efficiently completing the tasks required of me, my personal initiative to strive for greater feats is a quality that is essential in a President, whose duties do not rely on delegated tasks from another individual. In addition, my previous experiences leading other organizations and communicating with influential members within OCSA’s administrative body has allowed me to gain the qualities of a qualified candidate. This past fall semester, I worked with the administration to assist the counselors in volunteering at and planning for Freshman Retreat. I received this opportunity as my past position as President of Heart-2-Heart, a student lead club that formerly organized the retreats. This experience allowed me to gain proficiency communicating with administration and executing ideas in a timely manner, which are essential characteristics for an NHS President to possess. I also believe that my role as meeting facilitator this past year has allowed me to make connections with organizations including Bolsa Chica, Discovery Cube, and Reading Adventures, which are all valuable organizations that we could continue …show more content…
Although there are google drive links and folders, it has proven to be difficult for those without access to a Facebook to quickly find the google drive. This has made it harder for these individuals to sign up for events right when the sign-ups links are posted. In order to alleviate this problem, I plan on creating a schoolloop group or working with a faculty member to create a group to help communicate with our members in a more efficient way. Since all OCSA students have schoolloop accounts, this will ensure that information is received easily and efficiently. In addition, I plan on having a set time to post sign up genius to ensure that all members have equal opportunity to sign up for the events that may have limited
