This will impact on Crowsleys General Hospital, as this will mean the hospital will have to cut back on using private hospital services. This has will also mean there will be more pressure on the surgical team as backload cannot be easily be transferred to private hospitals. The long waiting list might impact on stakeholders (patients) to go private, which will be good for business for private hospitals, but can have a bad impact on the poor, as they might not be able to afford private care, and some may die, while on waiting list for surgical treatments.
This will also impact on the hospital, as this might mean restructuring in order to cut back on finances. Some jobs like pharmacy dispensers are already being replaced by robots in order to cut …show more content…
It is reported that over 10 million people in the UK are aged over 65 and the number is projected to double by 2050. It has also been reported that 65% Department of Work and Pensions benefit expenditure goes to the retired, which is over £100 billion a year. This ageing population is also estimated to cost the NHS average of £5200 per on NHS services than the £2000 for the non -retired. The cost of providing community heath for an over 80 adult is three times more than a person aged 65-74. The number of elective and non-elective hospital admissions for older people has increased more rapidly causing pressure on NHS services. Staff are struggling to cope whilst some patients are not getting the best of care they deserve due to staff
