NGSS Topic #1: What will you do during your high school year in general, to make sure you don't abuse the right to be free to say and do whatever you want? To make sure I don't abuse the right to be free to say and do whatever I want, I will take the opportunities that are given and not take it for granted. To actually work for it and not neglect it, as other kids around the world doesn't have that privilege for an education. Working hard and reaching one's goal in that moment, is important, as in the future we wouldn't have the chance or time to actually better ourselves. So doing my homework or any other assignment everytime and not procrastinating, is the way to go. Also, to be more involved in my community and school. As I haven't participated …show more content…
One of them told me, that even though you went to college and got a degree, it doesn't necessarily ensure you that you'll get a descent job. Four teachers out of (about) forty-five, who is supposed to be helping and guiding us for adulthood or college, isn't enough whatsoever. Growing up, I have difficulties when it comes to Math, even now. My math teachers never failed to remind me, that in life, Math is involved in many different aspects. They tell you, to memorize the multiplication table or the formulas or how to solve a certain math equation. However, the job I will take in the future, might not involve that subject at all. I could be getting a job that involves me to interact with other people, to present certain things and persuade them. In high school, they don't have classes that would help us with that. I remember asking my mom and aunt, as well as my older cousins, how they learned how to pay their taxes. Some of my cousins said, that they had to google it, because their school didn't teach them how to do it. My mom and aunt told me, that they just learned throughout the years. And I don't want

I would really like to take full advantage of the academic assistance that Newman offers. Not because that’s what they get paid for, but because that is something I never thought I needed, and I don’t know if it was too much of an ego thing in high school or just the lack of knowledge to ask for help and take free GOOD help when it comes. I’d really also like to improve my social enrichment. When I saw my social enrichment was as low as it was I sat and thought, that I always did enjoy going to talk to my guidance counselor. Not even necessarily about class, just to talk to someone who is a bit older, and see’s the world differently than a young eighteen-year-old adult.…

As a teacher, my belief is that students be taught the importance of mathematics in the daily life. I also stand firm that students should also be taught important life lessons that relate to how to succeed and prepare for the future. I think that it is inevitable that students be taught basic curriculum in mathematics. I agree that concepts of Algebra, Geometry, and Statistics be taught but I also think that students should be taught mathematics that deals with finances earlier then the college level. Everyone I let know says I am crazy for going into Math education.…
