NFL Stereotypes

An anthem is a solemn patriotic song officially adopted by a country as an expression of national identity. Americans sing the star spangled banner to pay tribute to the history of this country and to the hundreds of thousands of people which have fought and died for their freedom. They are very blessed and should be thankful to live in the greatest country in the world, where they have freedom of religion, speech, and many other privileges that are enjoyed daily. Recently, many people, specifically in the NFL have been protesting against the national anthem, which is a disgrace. This began when Colin Kaepernick decided to stand against what he felt was racial inequality, by taking a knee during the national anthem. This season, more players have began to follow in his footsteps. After our president, Donald Trump, expressed his opinion vigorously, multiple players and teams throughout the league felt the need to join in on the “protests” by kneeling with them. The teams which had participants in the protest were: The Ravens, Jaguars, Buccaneers, Patriots, Broncos, Buffalo Bills, Falcons, Colts, Browns, Dolphins, and the Chiefs. Each American is entitled to their political opinions, but the workplace is not the proper place to display these views. Fans watch these games on TV and purchase tickets to these games for entertainment, not to see political controversies. Another reason these protests are wrong is because they break many rules on the contracts these players signed.
