Protesting is one of our rights, but is it right to do it how the NFL players have been doing it? I believe that everyone should stand for the pledge as everyone who fought for our country. They do have the right to protest but taking a knee during the National Anthem is very disrespectful. Taking a knee during the anthem is very rude. Many soldiers who fought for our freedom and their lives stand for it but why can’t NFL players. Tom Goldman has recently stated that “The anthem issue, with players kneeling, sitting, raising fists to protest racial injustice and social inequality.” I understand why they want to protest but what so many other people are mad about is how and when they are doing it. Some kids say, “I want to be as fast as him one day” or “I want to be on that team when I get older”. Is the NFL a leader for the young kids right now? As Donald Trump said Two dozen NFL players continue to kneel during the National Anthem, showing total disrespect to our Flag & Country. No leadership in NFL!” Trump has a very good point. The NFL are protesting for a good reason. They have every right to but “Being an American in the land of the free and the home of the brave is an honor and privilege not everyone in the world gets to experience.” We need to be grateful for what we have here in the USA. “There are plenty of foundations and groups these players could be a part of and donate to publicly in support of what they believe in.” There are many other ways to protest.
