Tim had played a concert on the field on Friday night and the festivities had a toll on the condition of the field and worsened by the storm that followed. However, even before Tim had held the concert, the condition of the field was still messed up.
The game was to be televised nationally; it is therefore a complete disaster for NFL to cancel such a game. Whether the game was a pre-season or not it was an utter failure due to clumsy reason. How do you explain to thousands of eager fans that the game was cancelled due to poor painting? Jim Irsay, the owner of and CEO of Indianapolis Colts, was very pissed about the cancellation of the game. He asked how a $12 billion league could not have a field ready to go.
