Imagine getting knocked out, and losing consciousness. Minutes later you get back up and are told to get right back on the field to play again. The National Football league has been plagued for years by concussion controversy. In the NFL (National Football League) there are way too many concussions. A concussion is a temporary unconsciousness caused by a blow to the head. Almost every form of play involves some form of head to head contact. Too many head hits can ruin a player’s life. It can change a man and change the way he acts or behaves. Ninety-five percent of players in the NFL come out of the sport with permanent brain damage. This number needs to decrease. To do this the game must change. Although the NFL claims that they are doing everything in their power to make the game safer for players, changes to the game of football need to be made in order to improve players lives after their career has ended and to prevent lawsuits against the league. After the NFL, post players deal with an array of health related problems caused by too many concussions. They deserve proper long term health care. Players need to be able to live after the game and the NFL cant have to pay and worry about tons of lawsuits from post NFL players. The NFL needs to change the game for the safety of the players. They could have to live and with lifelong pain and troubles. It can change who they are in a worse way. It can ruin there family lives. Also the NFL cant have to worry about post player lawsuits. It is bad for the game and for them. If they change the game than these problems will be resolved. So next time you watch a NFL game realize how much head to head contact there is and think, “How do these players live after all
