NASA Persuasive Essay

People have been fascinated with the stars ever since the beginning of time. Our first manned mission to the moon was Apollo 11. It was a highlighted moment in history when the impossible was accomplished. Now our mission is to find a planet that supports life. NASA thinks Mars can do this. This will not happen for decades unless NASA gets more funding. While space exploration creates pollution, more funding from the government would greatly improve NASA's progression in space exploration because it would create jobs, make a backup plan for the human race and exploring other planets could open an opportunity of vast amounts of resources to the human race.
One of the main reasons that NASA should have more funding is if human life dies off on

Michael McBrien from Northwestern education says, “Many of the devices we use every day require these satellites to operate, including cell phones, GPS systems, satellite television, and weather satellites. They all rely on advances NASA made years ago. In the past, it was not known that NASA would contribute so much to society, so how can one claim that NASA will not provide even more advances in the science and technology fields that will greatly alter the economy for the better”(McBrien). We use satellites every day and if NASA had more funding they could invent more things that we use every day. Some could possibly comment that we don’t need any more inventions because our lives are good how they are. This could be true except for the fact that satellites were thought to be unneeded when they were invented, but now the human race cannot live without them. If NASA had more funding it could be possible that they learn how to do something impossible like teleportation or even new ways to create energy if they could find an energy source that they can bring back through the atmosphere. There are millions of things NASA could do the average human and we need to acknowledge

t There has been debates on whether or not NASA’s budget should be increased or cut. Personally, I agree with the people who think their budget should be cut down. Currently, $9.928 billion is spent on Nasa annually and for 2015 they sought $17.5 billion. With that money we could be funding more important causes like world hunger and disease research. Therefore, I believe that NASAs budget should not be expanded due to more important issues that can be resolved with the funding.…

The Department of Defense budget is currently $574.5 billion which makes it the largest component of the U.S’s government. Overall, I believe Space Exploration is crucial for the survival and longevity of the human race. Nasa’s budget should be increased from 17.6 billion dollars to 34.5 billion to increase the economy, increase quality of life, protect our standing in the space industry, and support youth’s interests in science. With the economic recession of 2008 massive cuts were brought to government spending. Unfortunately Nasa, one of the highest quality assets of the government, took harsh blows to its funding. Suffering 678 million dollars in reduction from 2011 to 2012 (Teitel).…

The government should continue to fund NASA because according to the History of Space Exploration Project we did, it shows that we weren’t able to see what Earth really looked like until Explorer 6 was launched. This is important because for the longest time, people thought the earth was flat. Then, after that we said it was a sphere. But, we never really knew what Earth looked like until launching a satellite capable of sending pictures of Earth from space. These pictures showed if Earth was made of more water than land or if it was more oval shaped than circle.…

It almost seems like the government was blaming the NASA program for being an economic waste of money. What the government should realize instead of NASA spending is the other sources of wasteful spending, like for example the spending of unprofessional security for the president in Mexico that were caught parting with Mexican Prostitutes and drugs and alcohol. To have a government job like those security guys is a privilege to guard the United States president and those guys treated their jobs unprofessionally. The NASA program should be permanently federally protected because NASA could be our source of national space travel for citizens one day in the future.…

The public and media has lost the energy seen for monumental explorations such as putting a man on the moon in 1969 and sustaining human life on the International Space Station like in 2000. In reality, the United States has reduced NASA’s budget exponentially since its origination due to an overwhelming presence of rival issues and a fluctuating economy which is highly debated. Overall, when discussing arguments for and against more spending on NASA as opposed to other issues, it is important to understand that the debate is subjective to what individual’s deem vital to their lives. The attempt has not helped with anything, America’s debt growing more and more each year, aiding to the fact that NASA is not the problem. Instead NASA should be funded more, and for many reasons. For starters, NASA has helped produce many different inventions due to its research, such as insulation, CT scanners and even memory foam, all used to make spacecraft landings and flight more safe and comfortable. Satellite technology, developed to monitor the planets and take pictures of our universe, has lead to many major conveniences in our lives such as the Global Positioning System (GPS), which people normally use to find their way around when driving, and phone systems that allow us to communicate to people across the…

The advancements in the fields of research and technology as a result of NASA are paralleled by only the U.S. military. Equipment used by NASA such as the Hubble Space Telescope continues to significantly enlighten our species' understanding of our origins from the dawn of existence to the development of life, and there is still so much more to learn. Almost all electronics, materials, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, chemistry, satellites, transportation, and resource allocation have been either created or improved upon because of NASA accomplishments (Wilson, 2011). What we have to consider is the money saved by these cuts worth the loss of potential knowledge that may improve or…

Though science has overcome many explorations that impact our world and society, it does include some limitations that are regulated. For example , money plays a huge role for budgeting all of the experiments that allow scientist to gather more information that could possibly be used for future inventions or solutions. The expenses going towards NASA’s “Mars 2020 Mission” are regulated by the President, who he has proposed $17.46 billion for the year of 2015. With that said, the incredible amount of money that is being funded by Obama each year for NASA is ,somewhat, a huge part of what the future holds. American innovation rest on the investments we make today.…
