Orion is my favourite constellation because its the middle name of my hero, Sirius Black which tragically died falling into a veil in 1998. I also like Orion because it is truly beautiful and its not hard to see at night. This constellation is named after ‘the hunter’ in Greek mythology. Orion, which is located on the celestial equator, is clearly visible in the night sky from November to February.
Real Myth: There are several myths about how Orion was created but the one i have come to like more is the story of Hyrieu’s, a humble man who wished nothing more than having a child. Once, Zeus, Hermes, and Poseidon stopped by Hyrieu’s house and Hyrieu’s -without knowing they were gods- was so generous with with them that he killed the only animal he had. The gods wanted to reward Hyrieu’s generosity by granting him a wish. The gods told him to bury the hide of the animal he had sacrificed to them and to pee on it.
