Mystery Monologue

•You are a young nobody who inspires to be a detective. Your name is Harley. You love exploring and butt in other people's BUSINESS. You wear a brown leather coat, and a large cowboy hat. You also have strange addiction to coffee and alcohol, despite being underaged. It must’ve been your natural detective instincts running in your veins. Today is just as rainy as it was yesterday.

•All you can see is a newspaper clipping from today’s newspaper. You should read it.

•The paper's soggy because your dad spilled coffee on it. Heck. It even smells like coffee. Mhmm, is that latté?

The floor is cold. The rain swoops down harder than before. You can smell delicious latte coming from downstairs.

•You crouched your body and crept downstairs and landed catlike on the carpet so you can’t make any noise. Luckily, the rain was too loud to begin with.

•You opened the front door and ran outside. Rain splashes onto your face. Your body is getting cold. Everything was murky, and thick clouds of mist forms as you went down the street. Alas, you reached the woods west of town and stopped. You touched your mom’s lucky charm. You’re going to have that million dollars no matter what.

= enter the woods

•You entered the thick patch of woods. As you sped off, you noticed the rain grew lesser and lesser until it stops. You looked up. Sunlight was swooping down between branches of trees. Although, the sky was pretty murky yet. You suddenly spotted a clearing ahead. Is that it?

= continue running

• Reaching for the clearing, you dashed off, mud splashing on your jeans and shoes. You tripped on a thick tree root but quickly got up. You are getting closer…
