Properties Of Aluminum Essay

Theq element on the Periodic table that is best representation of my personality would be element 13, Aluminum. Properties of Aluminum its included high melting point, conductivity, malleability, and non-toxicity. Aluminum’s high melting point represents my determined personality. This is because I can face adversity well. Even when situations occur that are extremely unfavorable I am able to keep a cool head and think straight. I can persevere and stay strong allowing myself to solve and get out of predicaments. Aluminum has a very high melting point, meaning even at extremely high temperatures it will stay solid, just like in extremely tense situations I can stay relaxed. The second property of Aluminum that represents me is its Conductivity, …show more content…
Two symbols that represents traits that are similar for aluminum and I are the shield and playdoh, The shield represents the resilience and high-melting of aluminum, and the determination and grit of my personality. I have a high tolerance and stay level headed which is my shield. Similarly aluminum can withstand high temperatures which is its shield. Secondly I chose playdoh. Playdoh represents my flexible personality and aluminum’s malleability. I am able to change my ideas and way of thinking to fit the situations I am in, just like how aluminum change change its shape to fit whatever is necessary. My other two symbols represent where aluminum can be found in the real world include a hard hat and aluminum foil. A hard hat represents the workers who work in mines and extract the ores, in the United States over 1.72 million metric tons have been mined. Secondly I chose aluminum foil, this is because aluminum foil is arguably that most notable use of aluminum, this is because of its malleability and favorable traits. Uses include insulation, electromagnetic shielding, cooking, art and decoration, and geochemical sampling. These reasons are why I chose these objects to be my symbols. My mask included these objects on top of my grey background, this is because of the color of pure aluminum is grey. My mask also included words like basketball, family,

Normally polyimides are compounded with graphite or glass fiber to get reinforcements to increase the flexural strengths. Thermoset polyimides exhibit low creep and high tensile strength, meaning this material has relative high endurance against high temperature and strains. This polymer coating has very good heat resistance and flame combustion. These properties enable polyimide to carry its job under harsh operating conditions. Generally the advantages of copper and its alloy include: • Good chemical resistance • Good thermal stability • Excellent mechanical properties • Excellent heat resistance Material…

Titanium is a low-density element (has 60% density of steel), that be able to be highly modified by alloying and distortion processing. Titanium is non magnetic, non toxic and has good heat transfer properties. Titanium and its alloys have melting points advanced those of steels, but maximum useful temperatures for structural applications usually range from 425-540C°. Titanium has good resistance to attack by most mineral acids and chlorides [ASM]. The combination of high strength, stiffness, good toughness, low thickness, and excellent corrosion resistance, provided by various titanium alloys at very low to temperately elevated temperatures, allows weight savings in specific strength-efficient structures (e.g.…

It can withstand fatigue and wear, and can be strengthened and hardened to an accurately controllable degree. It can be easily casted, corrosion resistant and reproduce fine detail. Moreover, it has high electrical conductivity at high temperatures. To introduce Beryllium into metals, Beryllium alloys of magnesium-aluminum, aluminum, nickel, copper, iron or cobalt are always used (Hornbostel, 1991). According to Harper (2001), Beryllium oxide, with a melting point of 2585 °C and specific gravity of 3.025, is a cubic close-packed and has a zinc blende structure.…

Another choice has to be made in choosing a stamped or cast metal basket. The latter tends to be more precise and maintains its stability. Aluminium cast frames are usually chosen for large woofer cones which have to deal with heavy magnets. On the one hand, the chassis has to be as strong as possible but on the other hand it must not influence speaker cone movement. Therefore it needs to be as open and durable as possible.…

800 °C. Therefore, most of the Metal processes sustainability advantages and disadvantages will apply here. Evaluation of which process should be used While there is only 2 processes for Ceramic's, in my opinion the Injection Moulding would be more beneficial. The main reason I have chosen this over Powder Metallurgy, is that the Injection Moulding process offers a far higher hardness strength than the Powder Metallurgy version. This would be an excellent feature for us, as we do not want the product to wear down too soon after it has been installed.…

Tensile strength is how resistant a material is to breaking down under tension, this is important in a vehicle body as the body will always be under tension in regular motion and would not be safe if it was to fail under small stresses. Aluminium alloys have a tensile strength of 350MPa which is not as strong as high carbon steel or Carbon fibre reinforced polymers but is very high for a lightweight…

These include; high tensile strenght, ductility, corrosion resistant, low thermal expansion and is able to be soldered. So having these properties make it the clear option for use in electrical wiring. High Carbon Steel (Drill Bits): Steel is considered carbon steel when there is no specified minimum content of a certain metal such as; chromium, titanium, nickel etc. As the carbon percentage of steel rises, it will have the potential to become stronger and harder through the use of heat treating. But the downside to this is it will become less ductile.…
