Hi there. My name’s Marina LeDuc. I’m pretty short (5’4), brown hair, hazel eyes and a petit/athletic build. In social settings, I’m usually the one to keep to myself, but if you start a conversation with me or ask a question, I’m friendly and quite helpful. Outside of school, you can usually find me watching sports, out with my friends, at the gym, working or taking my pug on a hike (when I’m not doing homework, of course). I’m also frequently on the phone with my friends from my hometown, giving them advice or talking to my mom. My mom is my role model. She’s funny, smart, caring and always there for me when I need her. Growing up, my father wasn’t really a part of my life. I saw him maybe once a year, if that. No one in my immediate or extended family has ever had a higher education than high school, if they could even make it through there. My brother, almost all of my cousins, and grandma all didn’t make it through high school and everyone else made it through and had no money or interest in furthering their education. Throughout middle school, I got all A’s and B’s and my mother was so proud. Then, moving on to high school, she told me it was okay to get C’s because C’s get degrees! I always wanted more though. I pushed myself to continue to be on honor roll. Not for my mom or the rest of my family, but for me. When I announced to my family that I wanted to go to college, they were surprised, but also so excited and proud of me. They knew I was up to great
