My answer is that we have to be able to look at all things relatively, while following an objective guideline. By that I mean that murder is wrong, but certain situations such as self-defense can make it acceptable. That is in essence the strength of moral relativism. With subjectivism we have the ability to look at things from all angles, with all circumstances in mind. This is the only fair way to judge anything because without it people would find themselves persecuted for doing things that a great consensus of people would have done in the same situation. While still holding people responsible for their actions, subjectivism also allows morals to have a reasonable range of freedom. Moral relativism doesn’t mean we can do whatever we want, but it does protect us whenever we a caught in precarious situations and forced to make a tough moral
