The Dunes Club in Myrtle Beach, SC One of the most admired and respected clubs in the southeastern United States, The Dunes Golf & Beach Club, was started by a group of Myrtle Beach dreamers. The first meeting was held on October 29th, 1947, and less than a year later the motivated assembly of peers managed to get a charter from the Secretary of the State of South Carolina. It is still one of the most well-loved places in Myrtle Beach, SC. Robert Trent Jones, one of the world’s greatest golf course architects, designed the layout for The Dunes, and did renovations (after many other upgrades over the years by others) in 1992.
