Myp Project Reflection

For the last four nine weeks, I have been working on my MYP project. Although, it has been a chaotic year dealing with this project, it is almost over. As I was working on this project throughout this year, I have acquired a lot of new knowledge in comparison to the first day I started. I have also elevated some of my skills due to this project. Overall, this project has challenged me in a way that I have never been challenged. After facing such a great challenge, I am able to evaluate the quality of my product, reflect on what I have learned, and how this project has changed me as a student.

At the beginning portion of my project, I thought that genetically modified products were just an unnecessarily controversial topic, but now I am aware why it is considered a big issue and that they have some serious effects on humans. After I acquired that knowledge, I began to think everything that wasn’t non-GMO or organic was bad, but now I know that is not the case. I began to realize that all GMOs and their effects cannot be entirely avoided. However, you can make minor modifications to your life to avoid dealing with the effects, such as paying attention to what you are putting in your grocery cart or by starting a garden. While I have learned much about my personal project topic, I have also learned about my global context. Originally, I only had a vague definition of scientific and technical innovations, but now I am aware that the global context is about how humans interact with the environment- good and bad. Now, I understand how much of an impact humans have on the environment as our technology advances every day. After learning all of this, I have come to the conclusion that as humans evolve technologically, we hurt ourselves and our earth. Although, as I have
