My two optimal career choices, a political scientist and a lawyer, were both on the list of least common careers for my MBTI results. I strongly disagree with this. I also mildly disagree with the labeled challenge that I’m not willing to “sell” myself during interviews. In my experience, I do a sufficient job of letting my best qualities show, though I can also recognize the legitimacy of their argument. Another issue I had with the results was its claim that, also in an interview, to certain personalities I would come across as being insufficiently tasked oriented.…

Carmen’s MBTI was Introversion, Sensing, Feeling, and Judging (ISFJ). As we went through each of the types and she learned more about what they meant, she knew that her MBTI is a good fit for her. She knew that she would get introversion and feeling, however she did not know if she would get sensing or intuition, judging or perceiving. At first she was wary of the word judging until I explained to her the context of the word in this assessment. My MBTI type is ENTJ (Extrovert, intuitive, thinking, judging), with a marginal preference for extrovert over introvert which I feel accurately represents my personality. I have worked as a waitress since 2012 and enjoy holding this position for a number of reasons. Firstly, it quenches my extrovert desire for social interaction with a range of customers. Secondly, extroverts communicate with obvious enthusiasm, which makes me successful at ensuring customer satisfaction. I approach all tasks with enthusiasm and high expectations of myself, and if my expectations are not met, I am hard on myself.…
