Myers Briggs Essay Examples

The Meyers Briggs test is something that I have been very familiar with since I was in middle school. When I was in 8th grade one of my teachers wanted us to take the Myers Briggs to figure out our personality types. After that experience I decided that I wanted to take the test every two years to see how I had developed and changed over that time Most people do not know what all these letters stand for and what they indicate about a person’s personality. Each letter has a contrasting letter that goes with it, the first pair is “E” and “I”. The “E” stands for extraversion, being extraverted means that the person gets their energy from active involvement in activities and being around other people. They enjoy being alone and get their energy from the solitary life. Even though they enjoy alone time this does not mean that they do not like being around others, they just prefer time alone. The next set of letters is “S” and “N”, “S” stands for sensing, a sensory person looks at the physical reality and their 5 senses. They are good at remembering what actually happened and focus more on facts than inferences. The “N” in this pairing stands for intuition, an intuitive person focuses on impressions and meanings. They learn through thinking through situations and will focus more on the future than the past. They remember things from how they felt or the impression it left on them rather than what actually happened. The third pair is “T” and “F”, the “T” stands for thinking, these people think through a decision rationally and will focus on the basic truth of the matter, weighing pros and cons. The “F” stands for feeling, these types of people make decisions off of what they feel or what others feel about the situation. They focus on what feels the best for everyone rather than what it
