Personal Narrative: Changing My Study Habits

When I first started school I thought that it would take me awhile to adjust. All throughout my senior year of high school everyone had told me that college is completely different from high school and that I need to change my study habits. So far I have been able to handle everything “so that I can increase my odds of winning” (Harry, 2015, p. 31) by adding little adjustments to my usual schedule as the year goes on. I can usually handle deadlines pretty well, however, if there are some times when I forget something is due and I spend the whole day focused on that one task until it is complete. I believe you can always find another boyfriend, but it’s hard for some to find a best friend especially if you’re an introvert. My friend has taught me that everyone is raised differently whether they are from another state or live down the street. Friendship has also taught me that it 's fine to “express my femininity- without apology” (Harry, 2015, p.103) as long as you’re having fun and living life like you want. Through friendship I have learned a lot of new things about me as well. I realized that I don’t like to go to clubs since I don’t like people touching on me just to walk past me, but I would rather go to kickbacks with my friends. I also learned two different types of friends so that way you are always learning something new about how to react to certain people. Antonio uses the frog pond theory to state that people compare and better themselves to the peer’s standard (2004). The relationship I have with all my friends teaches me to get out of my comfort zone and to stop overthinking every detail. I receive money from my parents, grandparents and refund from student loans. I constantly worry about how much money I have in my account since when its gone I don’t get that much back. Even now I plan a budget so that I can have control over my life (Harry, 2015, p.64) and still be able to do what I want. I have applied to jobs so that way I can increase my income, but I have not been called back for any jobs and don’t understand why. As of right now I am trying to find jobs around the city or school so that way I can save money to pay off my loans and my future debt for veterinary school. I know that in order for me to pay off my debts for school I have to “spend less, save more, and live well” (Harry, 2015, p.67) I have thought about investing in companies so that I can become wealthy since my parents did that as
