Draft zero: Writing Process Analysis My writing process is emotional. It is like a beautiful piece of art being made out of pain. Every single one of us takes different methods or steps in our writing process. Mine could be improved with simple anxiety therapy! And more time to do things. My writing process is a step by step method. Consisting of first I gather my material that I need; Paper, sharpened pencils, a snack, a radio with CD’s, a blanket or sheet, and a big or multiple Chai Tea Lattes. Second I make sure whether I am in comfortable clothes according to my two writing places. In my room I would be most comfortable in my undergarments. At my outside place depending if the weather is about at least 40 degrees or above I will be in …show more content…
First walking into a dimly lit room, the heavy scent of dragons blood incense still siting 75% full in its box, fills your nostrils. The only shine from the outside light peeps in through my window blinds. Only until I blindly reach for the lamp, spinning the nob to turn it on one too many times. Looking to your left and right, all along the walls have brightly displayed colors scattered throughout the room. Posters and pictures of giraffes and myself. Above the bed holds colorful medals pinned to the wall. Mostly sports related some academic. A big one that stands out among the rest is the framed award from the mayor for being the most outstanding senior in my high school. It must have been 15 pounds because it took more than one nail to hold it up. You may notice the un-made bed that’s because one cannot simply lay still at night (me). It’s most comfortable when the pink and black zebra body pillow, a collection of stuffed giraffes, and a quilt lay upon it. It doesn’t take one long to realize how there is an obsession in the room with giraffes, noticing behind the door a 4 ½ foot tall stuffed giraffe and multiple other small ones piled in the corner of the room. Also the collection of The Wizard of Oz, wonder woman, teenage mutant ninja turtles, mermaids, pirates and game of throne magnets stuck to the closed closet doors. But that’s not all because you may wake up and freak out seeing something on the …show more content…
When you sit in front a fireplace with the certain smells and feels it makes us feel at home well that is the equivalent to the smell of wood burning stoves. Usually before walking out a plain and simple orange sheet sits, draped over the back of the chair next to the door. Grab that to sit on outside or the gray lawn chair that has no wear on it and has been in the dusty garage for over 6 years. Outside has many colors and many more smells. The horses next door let us know well that they are there, by making it smell like a zoo full of manure. The colors of all the different trees that back up to a forest in the back yard leading to the front where sitting is an option to watch the sun set over the nearby small mountain. The countryside breeze makes you feel at ease. After the sun goes down the lights come out. As in lightning bugs, flash lights, night vision goggles, porch lights. Our porch light had a short in its circuit. The sounds of little frogs vary in the ditches of everyone’s front yard. The fun part is when the bats come out. Don’t be scared they are little brown bats with slightly bigger and darker colored wings. They fly past you but are way more scared of you than you are them. The night time is the best to write. When you have all the sounds of nature speaking to you at once. This my outdoor writing

I don’t like to work on my bed because it makes me want to give up and go to sleep. I also tend to work with some music playing and more often than not, a cup of coffee is with me. I typically work on the rough draft sporadically the day before it is due and sometimes that means also late into the night. If I can, as in not wait until the night before, I like to give myself breaks so I do not get into a writing rut. Sometimes I will come back to the paper later even after I think I have finished it and add things too it.…

Writing, no matter the subject, timeline, or form, involves a process of some sorts. The writing process can differ in the steps, methods, and style. Some authors may prefer to revise as they write while others prefer to write a draft and edit a final version. Also, other writers may choose to write an outline and while others may choose to organize their thoughts with a picture. Donald M. Murry’s “The Maker’s Eye: Revising Your Own Manuscript,” Peter Elbow’s “Desperation Writing,” and Kurt Vonnegut’s…

Process writing is the directions to accomplish the task at hand, or to explain exactly how things work in writing. An excellent example of process writing would be the story “Stripped for Parts”, this story helps one further comprehend the concept of process writing. It grasps the concept of process writing by explaining, and going in more depth about the process, of donating organs and organ extraction. Taking care of the organs in this process is very crucial, if one were to misplace or destroy an organ a life could be lost. These visions were old worn couches with tears and rips all over them. They would be ratted, smelly, disgusting and worst of all: plaid. In Shenanigans, I was proven so wrong and thank the Lord for that. The furniture stood for itself with black leather couches, and some worn stools that looked in good condition, all of it seemed relatively clean which eased my mind. A man was at the front desk sketching something very intently as I walked up to him timidly.…

Studies show that our mind organizes and create thoughts while we sleep; proofreading before falling asleep, helps process new thoughts and helps us to retain the material better. According to Richard Marius his study is based on the idea that in writing, there is a process that we must go through, this includes writing multiple drafts before producing the final draft. Based off his writing process procedure, Marius and I have complete different approaches, in our writing style. I’m more focused on one thought; while Marius believes that keeping an open mind helps produced new thoughts that would not have occurred from the beginning. To illustrate the difference between Marius and my writing, I’m going to compare my writing assignment for my Math 110 to his process of writing.…

Learning to write When I attended elementary school, part of the curriculum was penmanship. There was a certain segment of instruction dedicated to penmanship rather than writing. We were given large sheets of oat colored paper with three parallel lines widely spaced. The alphabets were used to print and write in cursive using the midpoint, and upper lines for capital letters. The handwriting grades were based on neatness and readability.…

Like most people who share the state of conciousness, I am prone to day dream. I often float away on the soft clouds of my fantasies, drifting high above reality in the vast blue sky. As a writer, these fanciful mental journeys sometimes lead me to imagine what my perfect writing environment would look like. I am not alone in this wistful contemplation; many other authors, painters, and musicians join me in exploring this mental path, each envisioning their own versions of the ideal creative escape. Some yearn for extravagant spaces, like a sprawling historical library, or a high tech office.…

From its four posts hangs thick red drapes as red as the wool blankets they hide. The sheets beneath the blankets are crisp and white and the pillows are lined with silk and decorative buttons. The wooden posts are smooth and rounded extending all the way to the ceiling. At the end of the bed there is a bed stool embellished with the same purple silk as the chairs and pillows. The feet of the stool dig into a thick woven rug that covers most of the room’s floor.…

The Barn The sun is just starting to peek over the horizon, casting soft rays of light over the Earth and turning this usually chaos filled place, into a calm haven. Here I can clear my mind and enjoy simply being and breathing. This is an opportunity never able to be seized once the afternoon rush of people start trickling in. There is not a cloud in the sky and a cool breeze rustles the leaves of the trees. I make my way towards the barn to see my horse before I head off to school.…

The writing process is different and unique to all individuals; many people follow the ideal steps of prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing as opposed to others taking shortcuts, skipping steps, and going straight to editing. The writing process is the course one takes to get from prewriting to the publication of their essay; since everyone is a different, their writing process will also be different. For me, I believe that following the ideal writing process steps are a tremendous help to organizing my essay and spacing out the work throughout the time the assignment is assigned. To begin writing an essay I must first prewrite; to prewrite is to brainstorm ideas from the prompt by outlining, diagramming, clusterings, or…
