Click, clack, sigh. Click, clack, click, clack, click, click, click, these familiar sounds of keys working harmoniously with my hand’s every movement, signifies the formation of an essay. My fingers drumming the keyboard have filled up my freshman days through every paper I wrote. On account of these repeated actions, I have developed as a writer and with it the quality of my work. As shown through the evolution of my essays this year, I truly believe my writing has blossomed because I have finally imposed a step-by-step process of writing that works for me. In addition, I have uncovered an ability to fully connect with the literature I read, resulting in the reveal of a new writer’s personality within me. In summary, I now understand the piecemeal

If someone asked me how I would describe my myself as a writer, I’d be brutally honest at first and say I’m no good! However in all seriousness, I would define myself as an evolving writer. For instance, all of the pieces I’ve written in my English class have gradually improved because of how I approached each essay differently. In the beginning of the year, I found it challenging writing papers, since I didn’t know how to properly organize subjects or precisely express my thoughts, but after learning so much, I can now write decorous essays. In general, my papers aren’t superb nor terrible, but I discovered when certain topics appeal to me, I find my papers more alluring and intriguing. Therefore, I began flourishing as a writer because I commit and respond more to the piece. Specifically, in my Prologue of Act III sonnet I wrote “Juliet’s eyes appear like uncovered Seas, will flow more with news from Capulet.”(Act III Prologue Sonnet), before I began 9th grade, I would’ve never formed such an enticing sentence such as that. By learning about literary devices and having the freedom to customize the sonnet how ever I wished, my creativity just unraveled. With the new ability, I could now weave my strands of creativity into the pieces of work I enjoyed the most. Also, I had a lot of flexibility when writing my Action Plan Synthesis Paper, from choosing the topic to outlining it on my own, riveted me and made me excited to write the paper. Never in my whole life had I known my ability to produce compositions such as the Action Plan Synthesis Paper and the prologue. Without the experience of writing those pieces, I wouldn't have rediscovered my love for writing. When I restored my interest in writing, I accepted the fact I wouldn’t be the most marvelous writer out there, but rather I had to keep growing as a author in order to write to the best of my ability.
