When I started to learn to write school papers in the 70s we did not personal computers and no available computer word processors in my house type writer were available, but since my dad was the only person making the money I did not have a typewriter. Papers and other projects were hand-written the only spell checker available was my mother. She was my personal spell checker I remember us having encyclopedias, dictionaries and the public library to help with writing and to obtain information specially with history.
