My Writing: My Mom As A Writer

Decent Essays
Someone who was of great value to writing is my mother. My mom has always been a book worm and within everyone I know, she is the one who writes the most. I spent a lot of my life in the library and listening to her poetry. Her interest in a variety of readings has led to a house with stuffed book shelves. In fifth grade I was given an assignment to make a booklet of short pieces of poetry. This lead me to asking more about my moms’ poetry and for ideas throughout making my booklet. This activity helped spark more of my curiosity in poetry. Once I was in sixth grade, I wrote my first non-assigned poem. It was about an independent pure white horse running free. After writing my first piece, my relation with pen and paper hasn’t stopped prancing

He had been in this relationship for some time and had already had two children with Melissa. His relationship with her parents was one that was very strained to say the least. The father of Melissa hated my dad so much that by this point in time he had already threatened to call the police several times just for being on the property. They could never seem to agree on anything, and a tension had been brewing for quite some time.…

Mom was small, a slight 110 pounds but through my eyes, she was large, even after my height surpassed hers. To this day, she would argue that she weighed only 100. Her strong presence claimed her space, and anyone else's that she cared to. Being right was of utmost importance to her, and she made sure always to have the last word. Overbearing, and overprotective of me, her only child, she usually controlled every situation, regardless of how trivial.…

I hate Christmas because nothing is phenomenal. I am not being facetious. I assume that Santa was busy and remiss when he forgot to give me a Christmas gift. Every time I saw other children play with their new toys by looking through the translucent window, I consternated about Christmas, and felt disconsolate. It is a paradox that a rich country should be so many poor people.…

My talent is creating, and my form of creating is writing. Writing is a thing I've been doing since I was in the seventh grade. I started writing then because of a troublesome past, both my mother and my father had left my two other siblings and I all alone, leaving us with our uncle. It was very hard for me to adjust, I was fatigued and emotionally hurt, I turned to writing. My love for writing grew into a bigger part of my life when I kept dream journals.…

By looking back at my writing experiences, I can tell that writing does not come naturally to me and find it to be a real challenge. I may think I did well while writing but in reality I did horrible. It takes me a while to write a paper then other people and there tends to be plenty of problems that try to slow me down. One of the hardest problems I have while writing is trying to find the right words to say. Every time I write I always take longer than anyone else because I always second guess what I just wrote and have to rewrite what I am trying to say.…

A fragile soul walks into his first grade class, fearful of the outside world. This is where he says goodbye, goodbye to his parents, goodbye to his old life, and starts anew. This is where the new world opens up new possibilities, new experiences, and new learning. There is no longer a necessity for childlike wonder; this is supposed to be the place where every child goes to create a name for themselves. The name I was trying to create for myself was Tyler Vold, a unique individual who desired to write with passion and attack the intricacies of the English language head on.…

When I first learned of this assignment my first thought was to interview my mom. She is the one person in my life I am closest to. Since we are only twenty three years apart, I thought it would be best to focus on her life up to the point where she decided to have kids. Though I knew most of what she told me it was still nice to just sit and talk about her life experiences. My mother was born to older parents and was the youngest of three children.…

As of 2018 my writing skills have increased and the types of writing I like have become more clear. However, of course as an 8th grader I have a lot to work on when it comes to writing, chances are you have already found a few mistakes in this paragraph. When it comes to what kinds of writing I have come to like, I have to groups, the writing I like to read and the writing that I find fun to write. I decided to interview my mom for this paper because she has had a significant role in my upbringing and she means a lot to me. Since my mom and I are very close, like best friend status, I already knew a lot about her which made the interviewing process much easier. My mom and I share a lot of the same views on many issues but have differing views on a few, especially under the diversity category. I live at home with my mom and father and so I see my mom everyday which is one reason why our viewpoints are similar, so we can both avoid cognitive dissonance and it makes the day to day living more manageable.…
