My Writing Journey

Throughout all my personal experiences, writing has always been a part of my life. Throughout my journeys, I have constantly used some form of writing to express my thoughts, emotions, and struggles, ever since I was just a young child in Athens, Greece. Writing is a very powerful tool that many use to get their point across. Famous authors, journalists, and day to day humans use writing to communicate with a friends, loved ones, and even the world. I was only seven years old, and I had just moved to a new county, Windsor Ontario. I did not know how to speak, read, and write English which was what everyone else around me spoke, Communication was the biggest struggle I came across. Starting fresh at a new school without any knowledge of the language isn’t as easy at one might assume. As the weeks go by, and I learned the basics of the English language, writing became easier for me the speaking. I started to carry sticky notes in my pockets everywhere I went. It was the twelfth grade, and graduation seemed right around the corner. Coming from not knowing the language at all, to writing detailed papers week after week was a great accomplishment all on its own. However, I had come to love the language, reading the dictionary to widen my vocabulary was something I enjoyed doing on my down time. I still remember the last narrative paper I had to write for my English teacher. How has high school prepared you to succeed in life? I had so much to say, and to explain. Like I always did, I prepared and brainstormed all my thoughts before writing the essay. After completing my work, my teacher gave me an A letter grade which boosted my overall grade to an A as well.
