In Teaching for Joy and Justice renowned author Linda Christensen explore how to make student’s learning for reading and writing meaningful. She argues that in order for students to see purpose and meaning in their writing they must be assigned writing assignments that have real world application. In order for this to happen, the teacher must assign writing projects that allow students to share their writing with the world—having an authentic audience. For my project this week I decided to take this idea of having an authentic audience and placing that in the center of my student’s writing.
