My Writing Experience

Writing about my daily log about how much writing and reading I do was an interesting experience. I learned about how I am managing my time and if I used electronic or physical format to accomplish my reading and writing. Throughout this daily log I had some difficulties but also some easier moments. During the writing experience about my daily log I was able to improve my writing through several drafts and in class peer response. I also had the help of my roommate and my sister in reviewing and getting feedback to help me write. If I have to redo part of my experience I would change some of the things I did throughout my writing experience which would have made it a more successful paper. I analyzed my daily log and decided to put my

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

As you requested, I am writing to share my past writing experiences which include what kinds of writing I have done in school, the feedback that I seek on my work before I turn in assignments, the memories that I have of writing, voluntary writing I have done, and much more. Past Experiences with Writing Previous to this course I have taken several mandatory English, Writing, and Literature courses in which I have gained experience that now impact the way I write. Before I became a college student, I was terrified about taking English courses. The techniques for writing a thesis or an essay was something I felt I had never mastered. Above and beyond being terrified of English, I had another dilemma, I hadn’t been in a school setting for the 30 years prior to pursuing my college degree. During the years after my graduation from high school, I spent endless hours reading books. I prefer reading a book over watching a movie.…

Composing Essay Duarte page 1 Writing has never been easy, but the more years of practicing writing the easier it seems to get. To every great writing piece there is always a great writing process. Some process may be very structured and some may be a spur of the moment type process or others may be in between. My process has always been the spur of the moment type.…

To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was. I didn’t feel like I had any freedom to stray away from the format that the AP graders expected because I didn’t want that to affect my score.…

In my narrative essay, I learned that sometimes less is more. I had a good three or four paragraphs that I removed from my final draft, and it made my narrative essay so much stronger and to the point. Wrapping up my writings has always been a bit of a challenge, as I tend to ramble near the end. I learned that if I can be straight to the point, and word my final paragraphs and sentences and then relate them back to my thesis strongly, my papers will be much more clear and precise. Large and small scale editing and revising is something that I still need to work on, but I am getting better at.…

As we all know, the final Unit assignment is a personal reflection about what I’ve learned and who I am as a writer. In my opinion, only talking about everything I learned can be really a boring thing, I prefer to talk more about myself, my changes throughout the semester. After all, most of people like biographies much more than academic reports. You should know, readers, as a writer, I have an obvious difference from others. I’m an international student, come from China.…

One thing about teaching other how to write is letting them write about a topic that they are passionate about. When I was in high school our writing was very structured… outline, rough draft, and finally our final essay. I don’t believe that is the way writing should be. The reason I believe writing should be taught like that comes straight from personal experience. When I was forced to write so organized; which can be very helpful but I didn’t feel it was helpful in this setting; in my senior English class, I didn’t thrive.…

Introduction It is no secret that writing, whether professionally or as a pastime, is one of the most daunting tasks that faces not only native English speakers, but also those who use English as a second language (Jimenez, Esmeralda, Mira, Rodriguez, & Stephany, 2013). Not only does this difficulty encapsulate grammar issues, but also provides creativity, one of the rarest abilities innate in most prolific writers. This is a little bit scary, especially considering that much of the information available to us today has been preserved merely by virtue of writing. For many student’s, writing presents a constant battle with ever-changing requirements, methods and techniques.…

Writing is described by Merriam Webster as “The activity or skill of marking coherent words on paper and composing text”. Yet to me writing has become a much deeper and emotional experience over the years. The first experiences I had with writing began when I entered first grade, directly after learning how to read very small paper books. I remember being extremely excited due to my great love for learning which I found out later fueled my even bigger love for creative writing. Later experiences include me writing my own not very well written, short stories at the age of seven, as well as me taking on CP classes as soon as they were offered in English within my school district.…
