My Writing Experience

Improved Essays
I enjoyed reading and writing when I was a child. I would visit the school library at least once a day and read an average of 4 books per week. I liked the pictures of the fictional books. I liked putting puzzle pieces together. However, I would take a long time to match a word to a picture. I focused on which shape of the word puzzle piece will fit the shape of the picture puzzle piece or at least make it match, instead of focusing at which word matched the picture. I remembered places we went for our holidays and vacation’s, which I would take all kinds of books with me. My intelligence strength is visual and hands on any type of project. But I do remember that I enjoyed to read and write as a child I had a wonderful experience and imagination, I would participate in the schools puppet plays that we would make out of paper bags in regards to the book that we read, we had to make a story puppet play out of what we understood from the books that we read from that …show more content…
Thanks to all my teachers that I had a wonderful experience, except when I got to high school I ended up hating reading and writing. I came across a very unpleasant teacher that taught writing, she just didn’t care much for teaching or for her students, and I didn’t really learn much writing in class anyway, because of the way she taught the class, I don’t think she knew much of teaching on that particular subject. Her exact words were “You aren’t really going to need it, because half of you are going to get married not work a job in your life, and the rest of you would just not learn anything and just get any meaningful job just to get you by”. From that bad apple that fell from the tree I got

I read many books, for personal "fun-reading" and for informative purposes. This expanded my vocabulary and creativity at a young age; I excelled at creative writing and read faster than normal pace compared to other children of my age. To this day, I still enjoy reading and find it relaxing, and enticing. I would much rather pick up a book and read than sit in front of a TV or…

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

My writing experience in and out of school has almost always been seen exactly the same. It’s work, you do it for the grade and for some you suffer the entire time. On the occasional paper, usually one with no restrictions and you choose your subject, I find myself in a love and hate relationship with it. The fact being that writing papers has almost always been seen as homework for me. Have your paper done by this day, it needs to be this many words, and no grammatical errors just isn’t something I’d find myself getting hyped for every saturday night.…

and I somehow found myself wanting to read every chance I got. Learning how to read was important to me. I was happy that I knew how to say words, read them, and know exactly what they meant instead of just looking at pictures. Writing has impacted my life and allowed me to look at books differently. After realizing all the work and effort that went into creating an elaborate story, I gained a better appreciation for how much authors do in order to present such amazing stories. I feel that I have a vast amount of respect for writers, but I also feel that writing is a chore and I tend to shy away from it. I have had some amazing English teachers that have really helped me grasp certain aspects of the writing process.…

When I was younger, I was always either reading a book or drawing a picture of a place that I read about in a book in my free time. Unlike other kids my age, I loved reading and learning about new things. And my love for learning showed in school, I was always one of the top students in my class, even though I was a year younger than my classmates. But my love and excitement for reading and learning changed when I had to move to America with my family. Moving to America changed everything for me.…

By looking back at my writing experiences, I can tell that writing does not come naturally to me and find it to be a real challenge. I may think I did well while writing but in reality I did horrible. It takes me a while to write a paper then other people and there tends to be plenty of problems that try to slow me down. One of the hardest problems I have while writing is trying to find the right words to say. Every time I write I always take longer than anyone else because I always second guess what I just wrote and have to rewrite what I am trying to say.…

I would say I have a neutral opinion on English classes. Some days I like them, and some days I dread the time when I have to go home and write another really long essay. I have really enjoyed reading books and plays in class, and I hope we can do that in the future.…

I have loved to write since I can remember chewing on my first pencil eraser. I started with scribbles, and then random words. Later on, however, I was required to write persuasive arguments and academic jibber jabber. Writing these papers, I began with a claim or argument in mind I intended to convince my readers was true. Not wanting to waste much time, I started by writing down my main idea and then searching for relevant stuff to fill the paper with the required number of words.…

Getting started writing a paper is a tough task! In my effort to complete writing assignments, my first struggle is often with selecting a topic. Every day, individuals learn new things in their lives. They learn a lot of things that they should be aware of. Two of the most important things that people have to learn are reading and writing. These two things are kind of easy to learn, but they become harder if a learner is not a native speaker. To me, writing has always been busy work and something that teachers only used to create grades. My writing experience in high school was very limited to one category in: practice AP essays. The writing I did in class was always preparing for AP exams and was very fact based. Most essays, such as history, were only used to show that I knew the material and weren’t graded on how good the writing was. I didn’t feel like I had any freedom to stray away from the format that the AP graders expected because I didn’t want that to affect my score.…

In my opinion, only talking about everything I learned can be really a boring thing, I prefer to talk more about myself, my changes throughout the semester. After all, most of people like biographies much more than academic reports. You should know, readers, as a writer, I have an obvious difference from others. Just like learning to walk or ride a bike, learning to read is one of life’s milestones. However, unlike walking and biking, reading skills are not suddenly obtained and then static throughout life. After learning to read initially, an individual’s reading skills, interests, and purposes further develop and change throughout their life. Furthermore, the means by which an individual improves their reading capabilities change over time as well. In the same way, I initially improved my reading ability and changed my interests through the help of my parents, then later my teachers, and finally, in spite of a dark period of little improvement, through my own effort.…
