Reflection On Engl109x

My writing experience prior to taking ENGL109x was not good. I have always had trouble with how to begin my essays. I honestly never really looked into strategies that can help me begin my essays, therefore I was stuck for some time until I could come up with something, then I begin to type. Not only did I have problems with starting my essay, but I also had problems with how it flowed, especially to the reader. Since English is my second language, grammar errors is something I have always had an issue with. Grammar errors affects the flow of the essay when a reader reads it. My revision experience prior to taking ENGL109x was not helpful. I had a hard time revising my own work. One of the reasons why was because, I didn’t like to spend much time on my work. I hated reading my own writing because, I am my own worst critique. In addition, it has helped me improve my writing skills, grammar and punctuations. Receiving feedbacks on the discussion boards and during peer reviews helped me notice the errors I couldn’t see when I reviewed my own work. It helped me know honestly how my paper flowed, if it made sense to the reader and how they were able to briefly summarize what my writing was about. I feel that I have changed as a writer. I have become more aware of my writing skills and always kept in my mind that there is always room for improvement. I have a better control of planning out my papers, so I’m not stuck with nothing on paper for hours.
