Then, Dr. Silvester told us some requirement of outside resource. I still remember that moment, when she said “For your academic paper, you cannot use Wikipedia and Facebook”. I was collapsed at that moment, why? My world quiet suddenly. I stared at the ground and have no idea what to do next foe my essay. Then Dr. Silvester explain why we can’t use that kind of resource. I still don’t want to admit I use the wrong resource until a word came out “authority”. In that spilt moment, I understood why Wikipedia and Facebook is not qualified because data and information in these websites are not one hundred percent right, in other words, literally you can’t persuade your readers to believe your statement based on the information in Wikipedia. Everyone can modify the information in that site and most of data in Wikipedia is just right but not as precise or authoritative as the news agency like the New York Times or the official website of some organizations or some researches carried by famous and prestigious expert. It lacks convincingness or strength when you try to develop your thesis based on the data from a not trustworthy website. Especially for this research project, your conclusion is totally from your resources, so once your resources are not in strong strength, your statement would seem pale and lack

During the writing of my “Fahrenheit 451” and Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” Analysis, I began by first, thinking out my ideas, to put together an essay that would be understandable to myself, the people reviewing my essay, and lastly, my teacher. You are needing a thesis to get your point situated right in front of the readers’ eyes so he or she doesn’t get bewildered while reading. In almost any standardized essay however, your maximum length for a thesis is at most, needing to be one sentence. Even though, you're evidently going to need to write more to get the introduction that is impeccable, but simple.…

Today, the high speed development of Internet technology allows people to obtain knowledge more conveniently than any previous age. The plentiful methods in getting knowledge cause some people to doubt the functions of the college, and claim that the college is already not the best place in nurturing intellectuals. Gerald Graff expresses the similar idea depending on his childhood’s experience in “Hidden intellectualism”, and claims the “street smarts” can provide more benefits than “book smart” which we learn in the college. I would argue that the college is still the best place for students become intellectuals because of the unique benefits such as the open academic environment, professional lectures, and complete academic services.…

I began with this writing class because I aspire to work in advocacy. I have to be able to write reports and data out in a basic and factual manner. As you progress through the class, you will learn how to stick to the basic facts in the reference to the type of document, you can begin to see your own speaking patterns and how you approach your topic at hand. It has been challenging to learn how to be less descriptive and to stick to the fact with few adjectives and zero personal biases as possible. I spend a good bit of time on my personal writing, the bulk of which is creative and self-expressive.…
