The pain was unbearable. They told me to lay still and that they were going to take care of my knee and make it better. They definitely didn’t make any pain go away. I felt every poke, prod, every move they made, just everything I felt. I stayed overnight at the hospital for observation. The specialist came into my hospital room and told me the worst news I could’ve heard at the time. He said, “Jasmine, I’m sorry but you’ve torn your ACL and injured your meniscus.” Right then, my heart stopped, it was the worst feeling ever. He told me I needed to have surgery and I had a 50/50 shot of being able to play sports again. Then, I started thinking, “Why me?”, “Why did this happen?”.
