“10% of conflicts is due to difference in opinion, 90% is due to wrong tone of voice”. Throughout history society has witnessed conflict arise for any number of reasons; we must consider all factors of what is happening and also who is affected by the tension created by the outcome. However, society has also seen that the when the people’s responses become more varied this can lead to further conflict in a more physical manner.…

Gun control is one of many contemporary social problems that has created a lot of controversy and disagreement between a variety of groups in the United States. Underlying this issue as well as others is the Conflict Theory, one of the few traditions highlighted by Randall Collins in his book, Four Sociological Traditions. In the present day, there is so much disagreement that it makes the Conflict Theory one of the most relevant traditions for explaining and understanding society as it currently is due to the constant disagreements between people.…

Conflict has been a part of society as far as human society itself has existed. It can arise from anything as simple as a misunderstanding to something as complex as the scarcity and distribution of resources. These small-scale problems, which often involve only two people, begin to interconnect and build on top of each other with time.
