Writing is not my strength, and I have to work very hard at it. Module Two homework assignment was a shining example of that. I did not do good job on my first try. Even though the assignment was clear and requirements clearly stated, I still had trouble to come up with the good topic idea and working thesis statement for my Narrative essay. On my first try, I chose a topic, brainstorming notes, and working thesis that were more suitable for an Expository essay. After professor’s feedback, I had to go back and read up upon differences between Narrative and Expository essays. Once I learned the difference, I looked back at my post, and indeed, my topic, brainstorming notes, and working thesis did all sounded better for Expository essay then

During the writing of my “Fahrenheit 451” and Plato’s “Allegory of the Cave” Analysis, I began by first, thinking out my ideas, to put together an essay that would be understandable to myself, the people reviewing my essay, and lastly, my teacher. You are needing a thesis to get your point situated right in front of the readers’ eyes so he or she doesn’t get bewildered while reading. In almost any standardized essay however, your maximum length for a thesis is at most, needing to be one sentence. Even though, you're evidently going to need to write more to get the introduction that is impeccable, but simple.…

I fully understand all of the concepts learned, such as the rhetorical precise and the PIE format, and I also feel like I have a much better understanding of how to write more professionally. During the first half of the semester for ENC 1102, I believe that my writing skills have improved from ENC 1101; some of which are getting to page length, correctly citing a source, and incorporating how a quote is related to my argument. I still have some errors within my writing that I have not quite figured out how to tackle. Some concepts that I have not gotten down to a tee must be coming up with a thesis statement, basic grammar errors, introducing quotations, and repetition. I have also learned how to distinguish the difference between a personal essay and an argumentative essay with first hand on the two types and how why my grade differed from essay one and two.…

I formatted my paper the way I did for a specific reason. I did not make a specific argument to make a point. I wanted to make the point that there are two sides of every argument and that you do not have to pick a specific belief, instead you should be open to others belief. The fact that you wanted us to pick a specific argument about something that we may not care about or have any belief or opinion about is something that I did not want to do. I think that people should have their beliefs however they should be open to other people opinions and beliefs.…

Writing does not come easily to everyone. No one starts out writing perfect essays, and everyone has areas where they need improvement. It takes many different skills, time, and a lot of revision. High school writing is much different from college writing, and with the help from the article “What Is Academic Writing?” by L. Lennie Irvin and chapter one in “From Inquiry to Academic Writing” it is easier to understand what academic writing is about and how it works.…
