Volunteer Hours Today Jenna and I volunteered at the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society. We spent three hours walking the dogs and playing with the kittens. At first I was hesitant to spend three hours at the humane society, but the time went by faster than I had assumed. The first place I went in the shelter was the older dog room, and instantly I was taken aback by how many dogs there were. There was this one older dog snuggled up in the back of the kennel, it had the most depressing look on its face and all I wanted to do was hug it…

It seems it is only natural then, that I decided to acquire my Biology degree at Young Harris College — in the heart of the mountains. I took a health and wellness class, and I realized that I was deeply interested in learning more about how I could contribute to this field. My previous experience volunteering in a hospital and shadowing in a private practice gave me two different perspectives on the field of health.…
