Trick-Or-Treating With My Neighbors

It was halloween, finally. I have been waiting for this day forever. The only thing in my way from having a great day of halloween was school. I was going to have so much fun tonight. I was going to go trick or treating with my neighbors, Sophie and Abbie. But it felt like school was going to last all day. I sat as I listened to each and every subject. Math, Reading, Writing, Vocabulary. It was so boring. I am only in 3rd grade. Thats right, 3rd grade. This should not be happening to me, it's torture. “Ok class, you can pack up your bags now”, said the teacher as kids were already out of their seats. “I will dismiss you by table”, said the teacher. Everyone groaned. She tapped each table

I sat down and smelt the food. We were having spaghetti. I slurped mine up in minutes. I jumped around the family room with my cat, Jasmine, and my dog, Biscuit, waiting until everyone else would be done.
After my mom and dad finished my brother pushed his plate away which was still half full with spaghetti. My mom did the dishes while my dad went outside to hook up the ATV. My mom finished, she got the costumes out and started to get us dressed.
After she finished that, she grabbed her costume and head right into the bathroom. While she was getting changed, my dad walked inside. “You all ready to go trick-or-treating”, he said smiling. “YEAH”, we both yelled. My mom came out in a witch costume. She went right to the kitchen. “Bang, bang, bang”, a noise came from the kitchen. My mom came out with a huge bowl of candy. “CANDY, YAYYYY”, Zach and I screamed reaching towards the bowl. My mom pulled it away. “No, this is for other kids, but you can have the extras, and you are getting candy from other houses, remember”, she said smiling. “Fineeee”, we both said walking away. My mom opened up the front door and set the candy bowl on a table near by. My dad, Zach, and I walked into the laundry room. My dad helped Zach put on his shoes. I attempted, but failed. I would wonder if I ever would be able to tie my shoe. My dad slipped on my shoes, and then his. “Bye mommy”, Zach and I yelled. “Bye”, she said back. We all walked

Some people were nice, some people said, “what do you say”, and we said “TRICK-OR-TREAT”, some people said “what d you say”, and we said “TRICK-OR-TREAT”, then they said “what else”, and then we said “TRICK-OR-TREAT SMELL MY FEET GIVE ME SOMETHING GOOD TO EAT”, and some people just didn't say anything. There were others who were not even there, I don't know if they were all out trick-or-treating, or just grumpy and not in the halloween spirit. On the way we passed many friends and went to their houses. We stopped at at least 50 houses. I know, a lot, right. But, we don't have school tomorrow, so why go the bed early, especially on halloween. Every time our bags got full we dumped our candy into a giant bucket. A few days earlier Sophie, Abbie, Zach, and I have decorated it with paint, stickers, and much more. We dumped all our candy i and decided to split it up later. We got back from the other subdivision and were about to head back home. We would have stayed out later, but our bucket got full. On the way home, we got to our house. Sophie and Abbie's mom were out somewhere and Ryan was at a friends house, so Sophie and Abbie were sleeping over

Halloween is like a horror movie, except with drunk teenagers instead of axe murders. It was about two years ago, when we were still living in Germany. It was a fairly peaceful Halloween night and the sun was about to set. My friends and I were walking around the village, what Germans call a town. After about half an hour of us walking around and talking, some acne filled, tall, muscular and older, German teenagers came up to us.…

Halloween, an American tradition where young children can go ‘trick or treating’ around their neighbourhood, however, this has risen the debate of whether this celebration is a safe or a suitable one to be part of. An opinion piece was published on Mamamia on the 29th of October, 2015, titled ‘Why my kids won’t be doing Halloween’, written by Alissa Warren, implies that Halloween is a ridiculous and an inappropriate event to be participated by anyone. In a disconcerting and exasperated tone, Warren targets readers of Mamamia and parents, of this whole issue of the pointless festivity. The article was also accompanied by a visual image that displays some kids in costume, trick or treating, with no one around and followed by a comment, written…

It was a sweltering day in the summer of 2009. The dawn of the day started like any other day, with the rising sun and the bright blue sky; however, it ended like no other day. I woke up to the sounds of chatter that came from downstairs. It was noisier than usual because we had family from California and Canada over at our house. This happened due to the fact that our two-story house had unoccupied rooms, but there was an influx of people, so my brother and I had to surrender the room that we shared and sleep in our parents’ room.…

It was a Thursday night, on my first week of kindergarten. I hadn’t made many friends because I was so use to playing with my sister, that I wasn’t sure if I knew how to make friends. I wasn’t shy when I was around my immediate family, but if you would put me in a room with people that I didn’t know. Well, I wouldn’t say a word. I would be so quiet that I would just sit there and you could forget that I was in the room.…
