The first place I visited is in downtown Geneva, a restaurant called Sergio’s Cantina. The elements of folk culture evident is the food and the atmosphere. The main ingredients in the dishes served are corn, chiles, and beans, which are also the heart of most Mexican dishes. Tortillas, or “thin, round, pancakes,” are also served, as they are the most important part of the meal. Also, the restaurant was painted in bright colors and had tequila, a very popular drink in Mexico, advertised.Popular culture in the restaurant included a few televisions on the wall at the bar, on the sports channel.
