My Visit To Devils Lake

Decent Essays
When I had the opportunity for a vacation, I immediately arranged a fishing trip. I was so excited to visit Devils Lake to satisfy my search for some Panfish, smallmouth, trout, perch, Northern pike, walleye and many other large reef dwelling creatures, but I did not know that I am in for an unusual experience, that inside water like Devils Lake anything is possible.

The fishing was excellent, I must say, in addition to good weather condition during my visit. I really enjoyed dropping jigs into Devils Lake water. I was fishing with other experienced fishermen, which was amazing, I enjoyed every bit of it and I was able to explore other distant places like Mauvee.

Devils Lake is a great place to watch if you want to have great fun fishing. The water has as much variety of fish such as the white Bass, Northern pike, walleye, Crappie, and The water has been confirmed the "perch capital" of the United States. Fishing in generally, at Devils Lake still remained quite good both for shore fishermen and boaters. For shore fishermen opportunity go, this is a destination where not having boat is not a disadvantage, this lake is probably without rival in this part of the world, whether your target is walleyes, Northern pike or white bass etc.

The camp you will be staying at is off the coast of Southern California and is on the North Western side of Catalina. It is 22 miles from Los Angeles which is where you board the ship that takes you to Catalina. When you are outside (or sometimes even when you are inside), the temperature is normally really warm and sometimes humid so I would suggest bringing and applying sunscreen in the morning and after every meal. Some of the native plants are eucalyptus trees, pine trees, moss, and cherry trees. The cherries that are on Catalina Island are different than what we are used to.…

It was fairly slow going after that, with some sort of large fish following my fly or spinner in on each cast but never committing (I'd later find out they were Striped Bass). Finally, something bit and while it didn't fight too well I was excited, it was my very first walleye (very amusing considering I grew up on Lake Huron-currently a walleye hotspot). Lake Powell has no limits on either Walleye or Striped Bass due to their predatory effect on bait fish and their rapid proliferation, so I bonked this one on the head and proceeded to less-than-expertly fillet it. Trout and walleye for dinner!…
