My Vision For America Essay

"Land of the free, and home of the brave."" These are lyrics from America's national anthem, and it describes the freedom of the country. But is America as great as some people say it is? No. Although this country is not perfect, that does not mean changes should not happen. My vision for America is positive if changes occur. If adjustments are made to decrease obesity rates, reduce crime incidents, and eliminate discrimination, America can become an even better country. To begin with, one major crisis of America happens to be discrimination. Many people say, "You are not born with racism, you develop it." Statistics show that more than one third of Americans are obese. Overweight people have an inclination to live an unhealthy lifestyle: not enough exercise, unhealthy diet, and many more factors. As a result of this, the next generation along with this one, will have a shorter lifespan. This problem may increase if citizens continue to be inadvertent to this harmful problem. There are several ways to fix this situation. One way is to make school lunches as healthy as possible. Having young children introduced to a plethora of junk food; pizza, fries, ice cream, and numerous more, it develops an unhealthy habit. This unhealthy habit could possible stick with them forever. Another idea to reduce obesity rates would be to decrease the amount of junk food advertisements. These publications are generally directed towards younger people, also leading them to a non-healthy life. Another solution would be to serve and produce healthier foods and using little to no chemicals at all. This change, along with the others, would improve the country's health significantly and help the society. If the country acquired the changes, it would not only reduce obesity rates, but also increase the healthiness and lifespan of the
