My Vision Board

Improved Essays
The images displayed on my vision board are various in type, meaning, and importance. One aspect of the board is education. I used a picture of a golden graduation cap to signify academic excellence, as it is a strong value of mine. To further represent my dedication to the acquisition and application of wisdom, I added a visual of an open book with a key nearby. The purpose in that was to show how important education is, and how I will use it to unlock opportunities in life. This knowledge will also be used in my career goals. The image of a doctor of medicine represents my current idea/goal for my post-college plans. After traversing the long educational trek of medical school, the next step would be to become a doctor, more specifically …show more content…
Firstly, I added an image of a heart being made with two hands. Though it can and does mean much more, to me it captured my desire to live a life of love. The heart is a great symbol of this, from loving others, to being loved, to loving life itself. Next comes the picture of a beach or tropical island. This is to show that I still will have some relaxation in my life, and time for vacation. Along with this I have an image showing iconic monuments around the globe. This is because I definitely plan for travel and world exploration to be part of my future. Following a love for travel, I have two pictures with a similar reason: the one of fresh food, and the tree of money. Both of these indicate plentifulness and security in material needs, which are goals for my future. Branching from this, the visual of hands giving a gift is to show that the wealth previously mentioned is to be shared and spread. Giving and charity is to be a part of my everyday life. To finish off the category of lifestyle, I have a picture of a person on a mountain praising God. In this image, I convey the message the God will be a large influence in my lifestyle, everyday choices, and

I chose to write about Frank Lloyd Wright’s house, Falling Water. At my funeral, I want people to know that I chose this piece of art because it was how I wanted to live my life. Sturdy and firm but lost in a forest of life and nature. The architecture of the house represents the different changes in my life and how the light that shines through the house, tells a story about no matter which way I turned or how bad it was, there was always a way to see through it. The water that rushes underneath represents how I had tranquility with my life as well as almost disconnecting to the outside world.…

The artwork I chose to imagine is Van Gogh’s famous oil painting called Starry Night. It was painted in June of 1889 and has grown to be known as one of his most famous paintings. Van Gogh was a post-impressionist and painted Starry Night from memory in his apartment. The view is of a village from a window in an asylum. I chose this painting because it has always been hanging in my Aunt’s living room.…

I do see my artifact a bit different because I have done more research into my chosen artifact. the artifact I chose is part of the life's work of Raphael Albert. He was born on the Caribbean island of Grenada and developed a great appreciation for black beauty so much so after going to college for photography, instead of working for London Transport he ends up organizing a number of these "Black Beauty contest". "Albert became an icon in the world of pageantry for his images" (Bichard 2016) the photos he created to connect images that inspire self-confidence within black communities all over the globe. In my Coat of Arms Project, I decided to use two symbolic shapes that represent who I am as a person. One of the first shapes I thought of was the circle since the circle is most commonly associated with routine and perfection. Being in routine and having a cycle of everyday events prevents me from having anxiety or stress about school since having a schedule will help plan out my day and allow me extra spare time to do extracurricular activities. In addition, I am usually referred to as a perfectionist because I always want to get a 100% on all homework, classwork, quizzes, and tests. Another shape I thought of that illustrated my personality was the square since it is linked with integrity and community.…

Parents Everyone has a symbol of what they want or need in life, and how it has come to symbolize everything that they want, as well as what it represents, in that hand my symbol and something that means so much to me will have to be my parents.
